Unlike most of the Gods of Onnism, Onn is not conceptualized anthropomorphically, nor is it ascribed animal or alien traits. Onn is a motivation that pervades the entire universe. It is the antithesis of matter and energy. Onn is dimensionless, while matter and energy exists in four dimensions. Onn should not be conceived of as ether (in the medieval sense). Ether is a rarified matter. Rather, Onn is the motivation for the existence of ether. Onn itself does not exist.

Burl Buckner received his first message from the Heje, an alien race from the planet Minn, in February 2004. Inexplicably, the Heje had chosen him as a vessel for the dissemination of their religion. Over the next four years, he received thousands more messages from the Heje. I met Burl in April 2004 in downtown Indianapolis. Two or three times a week, I took him to Bazbeaux (a local pizza joint) and bought him pizza. We talked at length about those messages, and I transcribed our conversations in notebooks, on napkins, receipts, and even pizza boxes. Four years later, he disappeared, and I have not seen him since. I am now organizing these notes, and will share them with the world in this weblog.

Onnism was first conceived by an alien race known as the Heje (pronounced "HEDG - ee") whose home planet is Minn (after developing a method for space travel, they subsequently inhabited several other planets). The Heje are a very adaptable race, and far more intelligent than humans.
